Massillon Museum Renews Its Commitment to Military Families 

The Massillon Museum is part of Blue Star Museums, a program offering free admission and/or discounts to active duty military personnel and their families. The national program runs from Armed Forces Day, May 21, 2022, through Labor Day, September 5, 2022, but MassMu extends discounts throughout the year on classes, workshops, special events, and shop purchases. Admission to the Massillon Museum is always free.

Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and participating museums across America. For a list of participating museums, visit arts.gov/bluestarmuseums. The program is available for those currently serving in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard as well as members of the Reserves, National Guard, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps and up to five family members. Qualified members must show a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card to receive benefits from a participating Blue Star Museum.

The Massillon Museum receives operating support from the Ohio Arts Council and ArtsinStark. MassMu’s Blue Star Museum participation is among many programs supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Massillon Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. It extends its hours to 7:00 p.m. on the last Saturday of each month in collaboration with Massillon’s Last Saturday event.
