MassMu Offers Summer Writing Circles

Mary Ruth Kamp from Expanding Circles Collective, LLC, will lead Writing Circles on Saturdays, June 3, July 8, and August 19, at the Massillon Museum. Each workshop will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Participants will spend a few hours building community, taking up a pen or pencil (even those who don’t consider themselves writers), interacting with the art at MassMu, and exploring their voices.

There will be time for prompt or free writing, time spent in creative engagement with an artwork, and time to read the resulting work and receive feedback from the rest of the group.

This workshop is open to anyone age 18 and older who is curious, wants to dedicate time to creative process and community building, and wants to get to know more of what MassMu has to offer.

Expanding Circles Collective staff are trained in facilitation methods developed by Women Writing for(a) Change, an organization founded in Cincinnati, OH. Mary Ruth Kamp is a certified graduate of the 2022 Conscious Feminine Leadership Academy, a program of Women Writing for(a) Change.

Register at MassillonMuseum.org/Tickets or by calling 330-833-4061. Please register by Thursday, June 1, to reserve a spot in the June Writing Circle. Registration is separate for each Writing Circle date. The class fee is paid on a self-assessed sliding scale. See details at Massillon Museum.org/tickets
