McCarthy Receives Silver STEP Award for 150,000 Man-hours of Safe Construction

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., recently received a Silver Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) award by the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. (ABC) for safety measures taken during the company's construction of The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Specialty Care Center at Victory Lakes in League City, Texas. McCarthy has logged 150,000 man-hours without a safety incident. The award was presented at an on-site luncheon hosted for all workers involved in the project and who contributed to obtaining the award. Established in 1989 by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety Committee, the award was created to improve corporate safety practices for contractors and to recognize exemplary safe practice efforts.
