Senior hunger is a rapidly growing nationwide epidemic.
Right now, millions of seniors are being left behind, alone and without access to enough healthy food. In fact, nearly 9.5 million seniors are threatened by hunger in America.
Aubrey, 64, is one of those seniors. He was homeless just a few years ago. Without a kitchen for cooking or storing food, he had to rely on fast food for his meals.
"I wasn't healthy, and I got tired of paying money to fast-food restaurants and nothing," Aubrey says. "It's not as nutritious as I would like, but it fills you up."
When Aubrey was able to move into an apartment of his own, he was happy to finally have a place to keep his food. But, he couldn't always afford it, and his fridge was often empty.
He wasn't homeless anymore and yet, Aubrey was still hungry.
That's when Meals on Wheels stepped in. Now, Aubrey doesn't have to worry about getting the nutritious food he needs to stay healthy.
Aubrey isn't the only one. 9 out of 10 clients say Meals on Wheels improves their health.
For hungry seniors, there's no time to wait.
