Mill Valley Music Festival Announces 2023 Lineup, Returns To Friends Field At MV Community Center For A Two-Day Celebration Of Arts, Culture & Community – MAY 13-14

In a nod to the ever-growing sense of community support, the Chamber is donating a portion of proceeds to a pair of local institutions including Kiddo!, which raises funds for arts education and more within the Mill Valley School District, as well as the Tam High Foundation, which has served as a inimitable backbone for high school programs across the board.

Just about everything has changed at the Mill Valley Golf Course, and Acton is back. “I left my dream job in Mill Valley for my dream job at Meadow Club in Fairfax and then my dream job in Mill Valley,” he says. “I’m unbelievably fortunate.”

Artist Kandi Cota Shows Her ‘Majestic Marin’ Work at MV Chamber Thru February
Cota showcases her work at 85 Throckmorton Ave., including a reception on Tuesday, Feb. 7, part of the Arts Commission’s First Tuesday Artwalk (5:30-7:30pm). Aside from the Artwalk, the Chamber’s office is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 12-4pm. Full Story.

‘Westminster Events’ Returns With Hromada’s Nataliya Anon In Conversation – Feb. 5
On Feb. 5 (3:30-5pm), Westminster Events, created by Mill Valley resident and yoga instructor Erin Elliott at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Tiburon, focuses on Hromada’s co-founder Nataliya Anon in conversation with MV and community advocate Paula Reynolds. Full Story.

CO$T to Host MV City Council Candidates Forum – Feb. 9
This Q&A webinar hosted by the Coalition of Sensible Taxpayers provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the two candidates running for one open Mill Valley City Council seat. Hear from candidates Susan Gladwin and Caroline Joachim, who are competing in a March 7 special election to fill a seat open owing to a resignation.  Voters will receive ballots by mail in early February.

Infused With the Spirit of RBG, MTC Continues 2022-23 Season With a SCOTUS-Inspired ‘Justice: A New Musical’ – Opens Feb. 16
The theatrical mashup of music and American history continues its world premiere here in Mill Valley, with Gunderson, Lowdermilk and Kerrigan presenting a new version of their groundbreaking musical fresh from its world premiere last Spring at Arizona Theatre Company. Full Story.

Emebet Korn’s Desta Gallery Shows 20-Year Survey of Jeffrey Long’s Abstract Paintings – Thru Feb. 16
With an artist reception and talk on January 14, 4-6pm, Desta Gallery presents a 20-year survey exhibition of abstract paintings by Jeffrey Long. In the last 50 years, Long has created an immense body of work and achieved great notoriety. "His paintings, expressed in various visual languages, abstract, representational, figurative, narrative, and metaphorical, are meant to bring order to direct experience," Korn says. Full Story.

Parks & Rec Advances DEI-Driven Training for Sports Coaches on City Fields
Mill Valley Arts & Recreation is taking another substantial step forward, requiring all Mill Valley coaches and staff using public fields to participate in annual diversity, equity and inclusion training. “This is a meaningful step forward in fostering a sense of belonging in Mill Valley,” said Vanessa Justice, chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission.
