As We Dive Into 2023, Here’s a How the Mill Valley Chamber Sees Itself

For those that weren't able to attend our annual Holiday Party at the Outdoor Art Club earlier this month, here's a brief look at how we see ourselves as an organization as we head into 2023. The theatrical mashup of music and American history continues its world premiere here in Mill Valley, with Gunderson, Lowdermilk and Kerrigan presenting a new version of their groundbreaking musical fresh from its world premiere last Spring at Arizona Theatre Company. FULL STORY.

Emebet Korn’s Desta Gallery Shows Jeffrey Long’s Abstract Paintings – Thru Feb. 16
With an artist reception and talk on January 14, 4-6pm, Desta Gallery presents a 20-year survey exhibition of abstract paintings by Jeffrey Long. In the last 50 years, Long has created an immense body of work and achieved great notoriety. "His paintings, expressed in various visual languages, abstract, representational, figurative, narrative, and metaphorical, are meant to bring order to direct experience," Korn says. FULL STORY.

"The Redwoods in Mill Valley was built in response to a growing problem. Rising real estate costs were making it hard for local seniors to downsize in the community in which they had made their home. It was too expensive for the parents of local residents to move here. After Nearly 40 Years in San Francisco, Art Dealer Anthony Meier Relocates Gallery to Mill Valley: ‘Change Is Good’
Early next year, Meier will move his namesake gallery across the Golden Gate Bridge to Mill Valley, taking over spaces on Throckmorton previously occupied by Pollen + Wool and Christopher Salon. FULL STORY.

Image Flow Hosts Renowned Photojournalist Ed Kashi for Lecture & Signing – Jan. 7, 5pm
Kashi is coming to Marin to teach a photography workshop at The Image Flow in San Anselmo in January, with a lecture on his latest award-winning monograph on January 7. Marin IJ: Marin Leaders Flag ‘Tough’ Economic Forecast
Warnings about worrisome economic times in Marin have come in from multiple fronts. Marin County managers presented the likelihood that the county will see dramatic cuts in state and federal funding to county supervisors. In a separate briefing, Robert Eyler, chief economist of the Marin Economic Forum, presented a similarly dour forecast. “(2023) is going to be a tough year,” he said during an online presentation he delivered to Marin Economic Forum members. FULL STORY.

Singers Marin Is Accepting New Soprano and Alto Voices For Its Spring Season – With a Chance to Perform in Ireland!
