2022 Movies in the Park Series Kicks Off
Friday With ‘Brave’ in Old Mill Park at Sunset!!

Movies in the Park, the free series of film screenings under the stars on a giant inflatable screen in local parks – all part of a collaboration among Mill Valley Recreation, the Mill Valley Chamber and the California Film Institute – returns for its ninth season with a quintet of blockbuster films across a pair of incredible venues. It begins with Brave, which tells the story of Princess Merida of DunBroch in the Scottish Highlands, who defies an age-old custom, causing chaos in the kingdom by expressing the desire not to be betrothed. When Queen Elinor, her mother, falls victim to a beastly curse turning into a bear, Merida must look within herself and find the key to saving the kingdom.
The Movies in the Park series kicked off in 2014 and has gotten bigger and better every year since. In 2018, the MV Chamber organized a successful fundraising campaign to raise enough money to purchase all of the equipment required to produce the series, propelled by a $5,000 grant from the Outdoor Art Club.
All films begin at sunset. No reservations required. No capacity limits. No snacks available for purchase, so bring takeout from your favorite restaurant in town

Let's face it: the Blithedale Project, a complete makeover of one of Mill Valley's two main arterials, is necessary work. On top of Marin Water's replacement of a 100-year-old pipe with a new pipeline, anyone who's driven the newly paved stretches of Blithedale already know how much of a massive improvement it is, so far.
Let's support our people!
