In 2021 at the MV Lumber Yard, after so many months of distance, our first EMV After Hours in ages was palpably impactful for everyone who attended – you could see it in their eyes and bright smiles.
EMV After Hours at the Lumber Yard is a chance to catch up with old friends and meet new ones, all within an atmosphere that feels like a cozy warm blanket. Jan and Matt Mathews and their tenants are hosting us again on Sept. 13, with food from Watershed, Millie's Crepe et Creme and Whole Foods.

Sweetwater to Toast 50th Anniversary with Live Shows & Gala to Benefit Its Nonprofit
Bob Weir, Sweetwater co-owner and a musical icon, made news this week by announcing that he’ll once again take the Sweetwater stage as part of the venue’s 50th anniversary gala on Thursday, November 17, all part of a benefit for the venue’s nonprofit Sweetwater Music Hall Arts Fund.

MV Fall Arts Fest Returns to Old Mill Park – Sept. 17-18
More than 130 artists showcased their work at MVFAF in 2021 and turnout was excellent, despite a consistent drizzle, a clear indication that one of Mill Valley’s landmarks remains as popular and well-regarded as ever. CA State Senate Backs Bill to Set Wages, Conditions for the Fast-Food Industry in Mill Valley– Heads to Newsom
If signed, the bill would set up a 10-member council, including representatives for workers and employers. It could set industrywide minimum wages in California at up to $22 an hour next year, far exceeding the statewide minimum wage of $15.50, the Times reports. FULL STORY.

Sound Summit Returns to Benefit Mt. Tam, Nabs ‘The War on Drugs’ – Oct. 22
