New City Manager Seeks to Strike Balance on Outdoor Business Use, Incorporate All Stakeholders – Sept. 19
At a Sept. 19 hearing, the City Council will be given the option of keeping the reduced May-Oct. seasonal use approved by the Council in April, or to expand that seasonality. The Mill Valley Chamber supports a balanced approach that provides both runway and recourse for existing applicants and creates a long-term program for new applicants, all while respecting the interests of all businesses and downtown stakeholders. FULL STORY.

The Hivery Hosts Wellness Day @ Club Evexia – Sept. 23
The Hivery is partnering with Club Evexia, Warren Gendel and Scott Raymond’s massive fitness, health, and wellness business that seeks to serve the broadest swath of people possible, located at 100 Shoreline Hwy. We're not sure what it is about the Mill Valley Lumber Yard, but it tends to infuse gatherings like this week's EMV After Hours with an overwhelming sense of gratitude: that Matt and Jan Mathews had the vision and fortitude to create, that it's been filled with so many great shops, restaurants and offices, and that it simply exudes warmth. We as a Chamber are incredibly grateful to have MVLY as a member, and we're deeply appreciative of the turnout of so many longtime members, new arrivals and plenty of new faces. And thanks again to Watershed, Millie's Crepe et Creme, Simple Mills and Whole Foods Miller for the delicious treats.

CA State Senate Backs Bill to Set Wages, Conditions for the Fast-Food Industry in Mill Valley– Heads to Newsom
If signed, the bill would set up a 10-member council, including representatives for workers and employers. It could set industrywide minimum wages in California at up to $22 an hour next year, far exceeding the statewide minimum wage of $15.50, the Times reports. FULL STORY.

Sound Summit Returns to Benefit Mt. Tam, Nabs ‘The War on Drugs’ – Oct. 22
