The Minnesota Bach Festival, a Beloved Spring Tradition, Will Bring Music to Minnesota With a Musical Workshop, Formal Concerts, Pop-up Mobile Mini-concerts, and Even a Community Sing-along!

Saturday, May 4, 2024

9am-3pm - Bach & Friends Workshop

This Year, the Bach and Friends Workshop Will Bring in Another Member of the Class of 1685, Georg Friedrich Handel and His English Language Choral Music (and Previously Performed by the Bsm).

With Selections From Handel's Coronation Anthems, Acis and Galatea, and Triumph of Time and Truth. Additionally, Instrumentalists Will Have an Opportunity to Work on Abridged Versions of Bach Brandenburg Concertos 3 and 5.

All Instruments Welcome!

9:30am - Introductions, Talk About History and Style

10am-12pm - Choir and Orchestra Rehearse Separately

12:00pm - Lunch Break

12:45pm - Tutti Rehearsal

2:30pm - Play Through

People Flocked to Venice From All Over Europe to Hear (and See!) Vivaldi’s Angels. Our Concert Features the Famous Gloria and Magnificat in Its Originally Intended Brilliant Sound With an Entirely Female Cast of Singers, and Bach’s Gorgeous Cantata for Soprano and Solo Trumpet Jauchzet Gott in Allen Landen, Written Like a Concerto in Italian Style.
