Shake up your closet with chic this week

at the Make Me Chic Boutique!

Back by popular demand, the Friends of the Mountainside Library present their Make Me Chic Boutique.

Browse and buy gently used jewelry, purses, handbags, scarves and more to spruce up your style for spring.

Get the scoop on sand at our Sand Laboratory!

Children in kindergarten through 4th grade will enjoy sand-centric activities and hear the story of "The Sights That Sand Has Seen."

Explore and more: Researchers from the Rutgers Youth STEM Programs will share hand lenses and microscopes so your junior scientist can learn about sands from around the United States. Each child will receive their own sand sample card.

Learn to Grow Your Own Sprouts and Microgreens!

Thursday May 11

6:30 pm

Microgreens are nutritious, delicious and easy to grow! Learn the basics of creating and maintaining your own microgreen container garden.

Program attendees will sample microgreens and sprouts and take seeds home with them to get started.

May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

Join us on Saturday, May 13, for two workshops:

Mehendi: The Art of Henna

12:30 - 1:30 pm

Mehendi is a folk art tradition associated with the celebration of life events. Learn about this form of body art and the henna plant, listen to music and pick up some folk dance moves! 

Pottery Spiced Up

2:30 - 3:30 pm

Learn about pottery from the Indus Valley, a Bronze Age civilization in South Asia. Decorate your own pots, plant seeds and enjoy growing spices at home!
