TOWN MANAGER’S UPDATE

In celebration of the Kelley’s Corner infrastructure improvement project construction that is slated to begin this Fall, the Economic Development and Recreation offices are hosting a Block Party on Saturday, September 10th from 2 to 4 PM. There will be live music, face painting and crafts, pickle ball, and various tents from community vendors and partners. Parking will be located at the K-Mart plaza. Acton Power Choice, which is a collective purchasing program for the community’s electricity supply, will have a few modifications beginning this month. In response to Acton’s climate goals, the program increases the amount of supply from renewable energy sources from 30% to 60% within the “APC Standard” tier, which is the program most residents will be autoenrolled in. “APC Green,” which sources from 100% renewable energy, is still available for residents to opt-in. Residents may still opt-down to APC Basic, which is the most affordable tier sourcing from 20% renewable energy sources.
