Government and Politics

January 28, 2023

WASHINGTON–U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near East, South Asia, Central Asia and Counterterrorism, released the following statement:

“I strongly condemn the shameful attack on Neve Yaakov synagogue, which turned worshippers at Shabbat services into mourners on what should have been a holy and solemn day – Holocaust Remembrance Day. I am deeply concerned about the escalating violence between Israelis and Palestinians in recent days, which threatens the lives of innocent men, women, and children. I offer my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and support any assistance we can provide to prevent further acts of terrorism. I further believe American engagement is urgently needed to help end this dangerous pattern of violence.”
