Celebrating the 2021 and 2022
5 Under 35 honorees

On June 3, we celebrated the 2021 and 2022 5 Under 35 honorees, ten fiction writers under the age of 35 whose debut work promises to leave a lasting impression on the literary landscape and selected by previous National Book Award and 5 Under 35 honorees. Readers can find these debuts at their local library, independent bookstores, or online at Bookshop.org.

Apply for an internship with Team Book

The National Book Foundation is seeking fall interns! This position is ideal for current undergraduate and graduate students who want to gain exposure to the world of literary arts nonprofits. Throughout the semester, interns will have the opportunity to support the National Book Awards, our educational and public programming, communications & social media efforts, and non-profit operations and administration. Interns will receive a stipend.
