Lifeguard Recertification Courses

RECERTIFICATION COURSES

This one-day course will recertify any current American Red Cross lifeguard with a two-year certification. Participants will demonstrate their skills and brush up on saves, first aid, and CPR/AED. Please see below for available course dates.

Time: 7:30 AM-5:30 PM

Fees: $250/member, $300/non-member

Whirlwind & Caimans Team Try-Outs

Whirlwind Diving Team

The New Canaan YMCA Whirlwind Diving program has over 200 athletes from the beginning to the elite level.

Our coaching staff strives to develop each individual's diving mechanics while creating a positive, safe, and motivating environment.

Join us for our end-of-summer diving team try-outs, taking place next week:

Days:

- Monday, August 21

- Tuesday, August 22

- Wednesday, August 23

- Thursday, August 24

- Friday, August 25

Time: 3:00-6:00 PM

Caimans Swim Team

The New Canaan YMCA Caimans Swim Team provides a supportive, instructive, and fun environment for swimmers of all abilities.

Under an experienced and dedicated coaching staff, the Y provides competitive and non-competitive programs for all ages, from developing strokes to competing nationally; all while gaining confidence and learning the importance of teamwork.

Join us for our end-of-summer swim team try-outs, taking place on the dates below:

Build Skills, Confidence, & Character

Basketball Camp 2023

Join us for our final week of camp next week!

Basketball camp provides opportunities for all participants to develop and hone their all-around skills through individual and team drills, games, and more.

The Y's engaged and energetic coaches will ensure players enjoy friendly competition while building confidence, character, and most importantly, having fun!

Basketball Camp (Ages 6-14)

Time: 9:00 AM-12:00 PM

Session 6: August 21-August 24

Fees: $220*/member, $320*/non-member

*Fee per session.

Helping Kids Get Back to School
School Supply Drive to Benefit DVCC of Norwalk

Currently, the Domestic Violence Crisis Center (DVCC) of Norwalk is supporting 180 children in safe houses. Please support these children by donating new much-needed school supplies. *There is a particular need for backpacks!

Accepting donations until Wednesday, August 30

Neighborhood LemondAid Stands for FAFU

Host a LemonAid Stand now-Labor Day

Put your budding philanthropist's compassion into action by hosting a LemonAid stand this summer to benefit the needy children at Facing the Future Education Center (FAFU) in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya!

Kids Club On-Site Babysitting

Available for Ages 6 Months or Older

Kids Club drop-in babysitting is available for Y members while they use our facility. Children must be 6 months or older and able to sit independently.

Summer Location:

Kids Club will be located on the Y's lower level in our on-site babysitting space for the summer.

Days & Hours:

Monday-Friday; 8:15 AM-12:15 PM

Fees:

Kids Club is free for those with a current Family Membership and $15.00/90 minutes for all other members.

Welcome to Our New Online Membership System

An Improved Registration Experience

We have launched a new online membership system to improve your Y experience!

Our new system is easier to navigate and provides an improved registration experience for our members and program participants.

What you need to know and how to get started:

All current New Canaan YMCA Members will need to set up a new online account to manage their membership and register online.

Please review the steps below to set up your new online account.

Step 1:

Ensure you have a valid email connected to your New Canaan YMCA membership account. If you do not have a valid email, are unsure, or would like to change your primary email address, please call our Front Desk at 203-966-4528 and we'll help you out!

Step 2:

Navigate to the new registration system. Visit www.newcanaanymca.org/registration or click the button below to set up your new account.

Step 3:

Log in to your account. Enter the email or phone number associated with your New Canaan YMCA membership and select "Forgot your password?". You must then select "Email me a reset password link" and follow the prompt in your email to reset your password.

Step 4:

Enter your new password. Upon creating and entering your new password, you will be ready to search and register online for programs and activities at the Y!
