New Children's No-Show Policy - Effective January 1, 2013

Schools and Libraries

January 2, 2013

From: Brookfield Library
Effective January 1, 2013, we will have a new no-show policy that will apply to all children's programming, with the exception of story times.

New No-show policy for children's programming that has a fee:

If a parent/guardian registers their child/children for a children's program that has a fee and then does not show up without a phone call or email 24 hours in advance, their card will be charged the amount of the materials fee for the program whether or not they paid the fee.  This fee will be charged per child registered.

For example, if a parent registers two children and pays the $5 materials fee per child then does not show up, we will charge their card $10 and not refund the materials fee already paid because that money was used to purchase materials for their child.

New No-show policy for children's programming that does not have a fee:

If a parent/guardian registers their child/children for a program that does not have a fee and does not show up without a phone call or email 24 hours in advance, they will be placed on the bottom of the wait list for the next program they register for. If there are no other children on the wait list, a call will be made to the parent/guardian the day before the program to let them know their child is registered for the program. This procedure will be followed until the parent shows up with the child for a program that they registered for.
