GOP Candidate Inflated Fundraising Totals

On April 15th, as campaign finance reports for candidates running for federal office nationwide were made public, No-Answer Nella’s FEC report for the first quarter of 2024 was $129,000 short of what her campaign initially shared with press before the report was available to the public.  

Nella’s report shows she only raised $611,000 before loaning $510,000 to her own campaign, proving she lied by roughly $129,000 when she said she raised “over $1.25 million.”

“Nella lied to New Mexicans and thought we wouldn’t notice. This is unethical for any candidate hoping to aspire to public office, and demonstrates that Nella cannot be taken at her word,” said Democratic Party of New Mexico Spokesperson Daniel Garcia.
