Julius Joseph Schultheis, Jr., age 98 of Woodbridge, beloved husband of the late Natalie Petrarca Schultheis, died peacefully on May 10, 2024 at the Autumn Lake at Willows Health Care Center, Woodbridge. Born in Flushing, NY on November 23, 1925, he was the son of the late Julius J. and Edna Krapp Schultheis. Mr. Schultheis was raised in New York and was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII where he served as an Aviation Metalsmith 2nd Class. Following his military service, Mr. Schultheis returned to his New York home and worked within his family’s business, Lincoln Mounting and Finishing Company. He eventually owned and operated the metal finishing business and retired following a successful 40-year career. Mr. Schultheis was a Mason and past Grand Master of the Marble Lodge of Tuckahoe, NY, an avid golfer and loyal fan of the NY Yankees. He served his community as a member and past president of the Flushing, NY, Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Following his retirement, Mr. Schultheis resided in North Carolina and enjoyed the southern climate as well as the countless golf courses, prior to returning north to be closer to family. He is survived by his devoted children, Marie Ambrose and her husband, Paul of Oxford, Edna Doyle and her husband, Bob of West Chester, OH, and Edward Schultheis and his wife, Susan of Sherman; a brother, Robert Schultheis of Naples, FL; 6 cherished grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 70 years, he was predeceased by a sister, Marie “Mitzie” Herbst and a brother, John “Jack” Schultheis.
