William Joseph Weiler, age 62, beloved husband of Aline Lima Resende Weiler of Shelton, died peacefully on April 8, 2024 at Griffin Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Derby, he was the son of the late Matthew F. Weiler, Jr. and Alberta Florence Alves Weiler. Mr. Weiler was raised in Derby and was a graduate of Derby High School and the Baran Institute of Technology. He worked as a mechanic for the State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation, Transit Bus System for 30 years, until the time of his illness. Mr. Weiler was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast and the proud owner of a Victory motorcycle. He enjoyed traveling with his spouse; but above all, he appreciated spending quality time with his family, especially with his devoted sons. In addition to his spouse of five years, he is survived by sons, Matthew Weiler of Shelton and Jacob Weiler of Waterbury; a stepdaughter, Karolina Resende of FL; brothers, David Weiler and his wife Mede of Spain and Christopher Weiler and his wife Angela of FL; an aunt, Pauline Alves of Shelton; and his former spouse of 21 years, Bonnie L. Weiler of Waterbury. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Church of the Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Parish, 212 Elizabeth Street Derby.
