October Is Domestic Violence And Abuse Awareness Month

Government and Politics

October 6, 2022

From: City of Tempe

The City of Tempe, as well as Tempe Human Services Department, Tempe Police Department and Tempe Fire Medical Rescue are proud to recognize Domestic Violence and Abuse Awareness Month and support victims and their families through a broad range of trauma-informed services.

As part of this recognition, the city, led by Councilmember Randy Keating, is raising awareness about all forms of domestic abuse related to this epidemic. This can include physical, financial, emotional, verbal, narcissistic and sexual abuse.

This year’s national campaign theme in October, #Every1KnowsSome1, strives to highlight how common domestic violence is in all its forms.

Tempe’s CARE 7 Victim Services team is here to support all victims. Our advocates can assist with safety planning, connection to shelter and community resources, assistance with the criminal justice process and orders of protection, counseling and support groups, alternative trauma healing services, and emotional support.

Get help by calling 480-350-8005.
