Centerville, MA - The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod unveiled the official artwork for the 29th Annual Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea concert at a reception last night at the Osterville Historical Museum.

Mr. Schulz was commissioned to create this year's commemorative painting and limited edition lithograph, to be auctioned at a special VIP reception on June 21 at the Hyannisport Club to benefit the Arts Foundation. Limited edition prints of the commissioned work will be available during the Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea concert, Sunday, August 10, 2014, on the Hyannis Village Green featuring the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, with conductor Keith Lockhart and Celebrity Guest Conductor, Charlie Rose.

According to Kevin Howard, President & CEO of the Arts Foundation, "This year's painting once again reflects the incredible creativity of one of the Cape's most talented artists, Matthew Schulz. Matthew's integration of music (the opening notes of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony in the clouds) and the sea, including historic Wianno Senior sailboats make this year's painting particularly unique."

Mr. Schulz's Studio is in Osterville, very nearby the Osterville Historical Museum, which was a perfect setting to unveil his commemorative work. The museum will open for the season on June 5 featuring exhibits celebrating the 100th anniversary of this historic Cape Cod vessel.

Bids on the painting are being accepted in advance of the June 21st Benefit Auction and can be made at www.artsfoundation.org.

Schulz's love of the outdoors born from his early nature excursions with his grandfather became the driving force behind his artistic expression. His paintings have garned awards in Landscape, Wildlife and Sporting Art and his landscapes have been part of solo and juried group exhibitions including the Salmagundi Club New York, the Copley Society, Boston, Mystic Maritime Gallery, Mystic CT, the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum, Wassau WI and the Cape Cod Museum of Art. In 2006 his depiction of a Goldeneye decoy was selected as 2007 Massachusetts Waterfowl Stamp and in 2007 his painting of a Great Blue Heron was included in the prestigious Birds in Art exhibit at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum, Wassau WI.

Limited edition signed prints of his commissioned work will be available during the Pops by the Sea concert, Sunday, August 10, 2014, on the Hyannis Village Green. The annual concert features the only Cape Cod appearance of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra.
