The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate
October 4th & 18th and November 1st & 15th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm

We step away from non-fiction to read something for the whole family. This novel, recommended by ONC’s lead naturalist Susan Snyder, follows 11-year-old Calpurnia in the summer of 1899 in Texas as she seeks to expand her horizons and study the world around her with her naturalist grandfather. However, she has to battle the expectations of a time where she is expected to cook, clean, sew, and keep her station. This is a charming read for adults and children alike. Please register by October 3rd. Participants provide their own book.
