Connecticut's Birdman of the Senate

Author Talk

Thurs., June 22, 7-8:30 p.m.

Millions of birds migrate to, from, and through Connecticut every year. They are protected by landmark environmental protection legislation enacted over a century ago that still saves birds today.

Learn how Connecticut Senator George P. McLean helped establish lasting legal protections for birds by overseeing the passage of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. McLean's story will be told by Will McLean Greeley, his great-great nephew and author of his biography. Call 860-928-4948 to register. Fee: $3 CAS members; $5 non-members.

Visit our many wonderful sanctuaries across the state and have fun participating in the 125th Anniversary 125-Bird Challenge! We've counted 340 bird species on our properties so far. How many of them will YOU see or hear? [email protected] to sign up.

Visit the Center's Programs & Events web page for more.
