ORMACO Kicks Off August with Jazz and Opera

Arts and Entertainment

July 26, 2021

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) continues its free Jazz under the Stars summer concert series with Hip to That, a four-piece Cleveland-based jazz quartet that specializes in tunes from the Great American Songbook, jazz standards, and pop tunes with a jazzy twist.  Back on the Medina Square on August 7, 2021, at 7 pm due to popular demand, the band plays all over Northeast Ohio: from Cleveland, to Canton, to Wooster. You can often find them at Guarino’s in Little Italy, where they play 2-3 times per month. Hip to That is known for their energy, humor, and hip arrangements. They are guaranteed to give you a swingin’ good time. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnics. In the event of rain, the concert will be held at The United Church of Christ, 217 East Liberty Street, Medina, OH 44256.

The following day, August 8, 2021, ORMACO showcases Wadsworth-based tenor Daniel Doty at 8187 Camp Road, Homerville, for a free Concert in the Country at 2 pm. Doty will perform the music of Giacomo Puccini. Best known for his romantic operas, including “La Boheme”, “Tosca”, “Madame Butterfly” and “Turandot”, Doty lived in Puccini’s hometown of Lucca, Italy in Summer 2002.

In the event of rain, the concert will take place at the Homerville United Methodist Church,  9097 Spencer Road, Homerville, Ohio, 44235.
