Full closures of westbound Interstate 30 at Northwest Drive are planned as part of the $1.7 billion 635 East project to widen and improve Interstate 635 and areas near the freeways' interchange. Westbound I-30 is closed between Northwest and I-635 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the morning of Thursday, July 21.

Various lanes of I-635 between Central Expressway and I-30 and lanes of I-30 near the I-635 interchange are closed overnights through Monday, July 25, as part of the ongoing construction.

Other 635 East project work impacting Garland includes:

-Plano Road will be closed at I-635 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. from the evening of Wednesday, July 20, to the morning of Sunday, July 24. The exit from westbound I-635 to Plano Road, the entrance to westbound I-635 from Plano Road and the left lane of both I-635 frontage roads will be closed at those same times.

-The exit ramp from eastbound I-635 to Garland Avenue is closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Sunday, July 24. 

-Lanes of northbound Shiloh Road are closed at I-635 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Sunday, July 24. Shiloh Road is reduced to one lane in each direction at I-635 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Sunday, July 24. 

-The left lane of the westbound I-635 frontage road between Northwest Highway and Shiloh Road is closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Sunday, July 24. The exit from eastbound I-635 to Northwest Highway remains closed long-term until the new bridge and ramp construction are complete.

-LaPrada Drive will be closed at I-635 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. from the evening of Wednesday, July 20, to the morning of Saturday, July 23. The exit from southbound I-635 to LaPrada is closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Monday, July 25.

-The connector ramp from eastbound I-30 to northbound I-635 is closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Friday, July 22.
