PumpkinPalooza is two full days of good old-fashioned family fun in Victorian Square. The events is free to attend and features the PumpkinPalooza Midway, a jack-o-lantern wall, the Pumpkin Design Studio, carving classes, the Purple Pumpkin Pursuit, costume photo ops for people and pets, Nevada's only Pumpkin Derby, vendor trick or treating, food trucks, kid-friendly live entertainment, and so much more! The Magic

Named at top 10 Fall Event by Food Network Magazine, PumpkinPalooza is home to Nevada's only Pumpkin Derby and Jack-o-Lantern Wall. The event also features affordable and wholesome events for all ages including the PumpkinPalooza Midway, the Pumpkin Design Studio, the Purple Pumpkin Pursuit, costume photo ops for people and pets, vendors and food trucks, live entertainment, and much more!

The NNCIL Imagination

PumpkinPalooza began with the Northern Nevada Center for Independent Living's (NNCIL) vision of drawing attention to its organization by igniting the imagination of kids and adults of all ages. It has become one of Northern Nevada's largest events.

The Midway

The PumpkinPalooza Midway is filled with more than 20 homemade carnival-style games and unique experiences created especially for the event. Players collect tickets for each game they win which can be redeemed for prizes at our Redemption Booth. Of course, PumpkinPalooza is all about family fun, so even if you can't master a game, you will still earn a treat for trying.

From Tip A Troll to Monster Target to Human Bowling, children are sure to find a game to spark their Halloween Spirit.

Purple Pumpkin Pursuit

This scavenger hunt will take your family on a journey throughout Victorian Square and everything PumpkinPalooza! The more purple pumpkins you find, the bigger the prize you'll win. Will you be able to find them all?

10AM-3PM: Nevada's Only Pumpkin Derby

The only Pumpkin Derby in the state of Nevada is getting bigger and faster in 2022! Get a team together and get building for your chance at the Grand Championship. Everyone is welcome to enter. Need help building your Pumpkin Derby Racer? We have a full Pumpkin Garage with Master Pumpkin Mechanics at the event ready to help. You can even buy a kit (including the pumpkin) at the Pumpkin Garage. You get to keep your Pumpkin Derby Racer, wheels, axles, pumpkin and all!

The Pumpkin Design Studio

We have all the pumpkins, glitter, glue, and paints. All your child needs to bring is their imagination!

We're offering Free carving classes so you can be a part of Nevada's only Jack-o-Lantern Wall! On Saturday only, artists will help you carve a one-of-a-kind Jack-o-Lantern for Lisa's Wall. Your Jack-o-Lantern can be silly, scary, spooky…the possibilites are as great as your imagination. The pumpkins are provided. Space is limited. First come first served.

Lisa's Wall will be built using the Jack-o-Lanterns carved and created by people in our community. Get your cameras ready for that perfect fall family picture. On Saturday night, we're lighting up the pumpkins in a special ceremony. Lisa's Wall is named after the founder of PumpkinPalooza, Lisa Bonie, the Executive Director of the Northern Nevada Center for Independent Living. Lisa's vision is to raise awareness for the NNCIL by bringing the magic of Halloween to local families. Since PumpkinPalooza was founded 10 years ago, Lisa's dream has been to have a pumpkin wall at the event.

Vendor Trick Or Treat

A safe and Free trick or treating experience! Vendors at PumpkinPalooza will be handing out candy and other goodies to kiddos in costume. Your ghosts and ghouls can fill their bags with treats and still make their bedtime.

The Great Masquerade

Put your Halloween spirit in the spotlight for your chance to win prizes! Come to PumpkinPalooza in costume and participate in the Great Masquerade for Free! You'll have your photo taken by a professional photographer. Those photographs will be displayed in a special gallery on PumpkinPalooza's Facebook page where you can tag, save, and share them. On Halloween, a pumpkin committee will choose several photos at random to win a prize.

Pet Parade Costume Contest

Dress up Fido and Fluffy in their most terrifying or adorable costumes for your chance to win a prize in the Pet Parade! Our professional photographer will take their picture at our photo-op. All of the pictures will go into a PumpkinPalooza online photo gallery, and the community will vote for their favorite. Participation is Free!

Online voting for the Pet Parade Photo Contest will take place the week leading up to Halloween. The winner will be announced on Halloween.

Local artists will be playing on the Great Basin stage all weekend long. The performances are Free!
