SHINE with Mystic Valley Elder Services,12/5

We're pleased to start off the new year with a program that will help adults navigate Medicare, Medicaid (and more), and introduce the many services and programs offered by Mystic Valley Elder Services.

Did you know SHINE (Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Everyone) provides no-cost health insurance information, confidential counseling, and unbiased information regarding Medicare, Medicaid, health insurance and prescription drug options? SHINE counselors will be at the library this Thursday, January 5 from 4:00-5:00pm for a presentation on their services. All counselors are trained and certified by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs. You do not need to register, and more information is available at the link below. This program repeats on February 2, 2023.

New! Mystic Valley Elder Services series starts 1/9

Krissy McKeeman from MVES is back with friends. During each session in this three part series, an expert from Mystic Valley Elder Services will present on topics such as avoiding scams, tech troubleshooting, and more about services that MVES offers to help in these areas. More information and register here.

Adult Therapeutic Art Program starts 1/11!

Come join us in exploring your inner artist in fun and creative ways with local artist Susan McFarlane of McFarlane Arts. This series of programs is designed for adults ages 22+ with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). They are not respite programs; caregivers are required to attend. Register for one or more sessions - every other Wednesday beginning January 11. Sponsored by the Friends of the Reading Public Library.

Join our conversation on gratitude, 1/12

Reverend Dr. Laura Solomon, Minister of Reading's Unitarian Universalist Church, will discuss gratitude from a mindfulness perspective, bringing awareness to the small things and experiencing them with a new sense of appreciation and wonder.  You will leave with some practical tips and practices to reach your gratitude potential. Registration suggested, but not required.
