From: Rebuilding Together Alexandria

Rebuilding Together Alexandria is teaming up with Fannie Mae to rebuild Alexandria's Hume Springs Park along with the City's Parks & Recreation Department and RunningBrooke, an Alexandria nonprofit dedicated to helping at risk children. Rebuilding Together's volunteers from Fannie Mae will be building and installing park benches and tables, clearing sod for a stone pathway, installing new signage, removing bushes/trees, and more at Hume Springs Park, located in a low-income neighborhood that borders Arlandria.

With the help of funders and volunteers, Rebuilding Together Alexandria works to preserve housing affordability and revitalizes the Alexandria community by providing free, safe, and healthy home and community repairs.  These upgrades are important since most of Rebuilding Together Alexandria's clients live near the poverty level.  Rebuilding Together Alexandria has worked on more than 1,800 projects in Alexandria since its inception more nearly 30 years ago, improving the lives of thousands.

WHEN: Friday, September 11, 2015, from 9:30am-1:30pm

WHERE: Hume Springs Park, 100 Dale Street, Alexandria, VA 22305
