Burnsville, MN — Today at the Chamber Coalition of Dakota County Candidate Forum, Rep. Angie Craig demonstrated why she is the best representative for small businesses and working families.

From ensuring Minnesota businesses could recover from the pandemic, to lowering health care costs and gas prices, Rep. Craig has worked over her two terms in Congress to support local businesses.

“If anyone had forgotten how hard Angie works for her constituents, they were reminded tonight of her lengthy record of accomplishments and her commitment to maintaining strong relationships with the small business community,” Angie Craig for Congress campaign manager Wellesley Daniels said. “Tonight, Rep. Craig proved once again that when it comes to standing up for small businesses and working families, she’s second to none.”

In stark contrast with Rep. Craig’s thoughtful leadership, GOP candidate Tyler Kistner has called inflation “something every Republican is benefiting from.”

Kistner has called himself “100% pro-life” and recently signed a pledge saying that he would support any anti-choice policy that is in effect the day he is elected – including existing state bans with no exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the woman.

Rep. Craig is strongly pro-choice and recognizes that abortion access is an economic issue as well as a health care and women right’s issue. Craig has voted twice to codify Roe v. Wade into law.

Since she was first elected to Congress in 2018, Rep. Craig has delivered for small business and working families:

    Rep. Craig played an instrumental role in passing the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act to ensure Minnesota businesses could recover from the pandemic and secured federal resources to help them grow even more.

    Rep. Craig helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which finally gives Medicare the power to negotiate prescription drug prices, and caps the cost of insulin at $35 for Medicare and Medicaid recipients — legislation she drafted. The historic legislation will also invest in renewable energy technology to lower the cost of energy production for families and businesses.

    Rep. Craig passed a bill to allow year-round sales of E15 for the first time with support from Democrats and Republicans, and has worked to expand access to homegrown biofuels.

    Rep. Craig pushed the Biden Administration to pass an executive order that eliminated a gap in the Affordable Care Act that was unfairly charging families up to 25% of their income for health insurance.

    This term, Rep. Craig secured more than $7 million in federal funding for broadband expansion across the Second District and more than $100 million for the state of Minnesota.

    Rep. Craig worked across the aisle for months to get the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law across the finish line to make long overdue upgrade roads, bridges, energy sources, and broadband across rural Minnesota.
