Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) joined the Alabama delegation in a letter led by Rep. Gary Palmer (AL-06) to Mexican Ambassador Esteban Moctezuma demanding answers regarding the unlawful military occupation of Birmingham-based company Vulcan Materials. Vulcan Materials' port in Quintana Roo, Mexico, was seized by the Mexican military and has been occupied by their forces for the last eight days.

"It is unacceptable that the Mexican military have been occupying Vulcan Materials' private property for the last eight days,” said Moore. "The Mexican government should immediately withdraw from Vulcan property, and the Alabama delegation deserves a swift response from the Mexican government as to why these disturbing events have occurred."
