WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) voted to pass a Continuing Resolution that includes provisions extending government funding through December 16, 2022.

The bill includes extended funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program. The bill also includes resources that will help families with rising costs and help communities and small businesses get back on their feet and rebuild from natural disasters while repairing damage to critical infrastructure. Finally, the bill includes $12.35 billion in assistance related to Ukraine, including training, equipment, weapons, logistics support, and direct financial support for the government of Ukraine.

“Today, along with my colleagues, I voted to keep the government of the United States open and operating to ensure that we fulfill our obligation to the American people,” said Blunt Rochester. “This funding package invests in the services that help keep our communities safe and strong. It provides funding to assist communities across the country, including in Florida, Puerto Rico, and Alaska, to help those communities recover from the toll of recent catastrophic natural disasters. We’ve also maintained our commitment to our close ally, Ukraine, by providing over $12 billion in additional support to help the Ukrainian people fight Russia’s unjust invasion. While this bill meets the needs of the American people in the short-term, it does not exonerate us from our duty to pass a final, comprehensive budget for FY 2023.
