The modern celebration includes daylong, free of charge, live musical entertainment from the stage on the Jackson County Courthouse Lawn on the Fourth of July. There is also a carnival, grand parade, and various food concessions. The celebration has now expanded to include seven days of family activities.

Wednesday, June 29th, 2022

8:00pm: Gospel Harmony Boys concert on the lawn of the Jackson County Courthouse.

The Gospel Harmony Boys, popular southern gospel quartet from West Virginia, will be performing on the lawn of the Jackson County Courthouse at 8 p.m. The group traces its roots to 1952 and travels across the region spreading The Good News.

“For God So Loved” is the group’s most recent recording.

Thursday, June 30th, 2022

6:00pm: Patriots on Wheels Bicycle Parade on North Street

It’s called the bicycle parade, but kids on bikes, trikes, wagons and strollers are likely to be seen in this event. Sponsored by Constellium Rolled Products, it begins at 6 p.m. at United Bank’s North Street location.

Myers Amusements will be providing Carnival rides and attractions on the Ripley Municipal Parking Lot.

8:00pm: Charleston Metro Band at courthouse lawn

7:00pm: The Class Act

“The Class Act” is becoming a tradition with the Fourth of July Celebration in Ripley. It serves as an all-class reunion for Ripley High graduates, spouses and friends.  it all begins at 7 p.m. on the Courthouse lawn. this is an all-class reunion for Ripley High School grads and friends. A DJ plays nostalgic tunes for all to enjoy.

6-10 p.m: Carnival rides and attractions

Myers Amusements will be providing Carnival rides and attractions on the Ripley Municipal Parking Lot.

7:00pm: Bluegrass Gospel Night

It’s an evening designed for bluegrass fans. Three bands from across the region will have your toes tapping. The show begins at 7 p.m. from the Constellium Stage on the lawn of the Jackson County Courthouse.

U-Turn Concert

U-Turn is a popular event for those who enjoy contemporary Christian rock music. The evening show is on the Constellium stage at the Courthouse.

Monday, July 4th, 2022

7:00 a.m: Pancake Breakfast Calvary UM Church

A pancake breakfast with all the fixin’s is served by Calvary United Methodist Church. It is located at the corner of North & Court streets. Hours are from 7-10 a.m. Breakfast is by your donation.

9:00 a.m: The Little Patriot Hour

Kids are in the spotlight during Little Patriots Hour sponsored by the Ferrell family. Professor Bubblemaker is among the free entertainers on the courthouse lawn.

10:00 a.m: Opening Ceremonies

Opening ceremonies take place on the Constellium Stage next to the Jackson County Courthouse.

11:30 a.m: Firecracker 2-Mile Race

The Firecracker 2-Miler is a race through the streets of Ripley in front of the huge crowd gathering for the Grand Parade. Start and finish lines are near the Jackson County Courthouse.

12:00 pm: Sheetz Grand Parade

Covering 1.5 miles. the Sheetz Grand Parade begins near Ripley High School. The route follows South Church Street (Rt. 33) to Main Street (Rt. 21) and concludes at the intersection of West Main Street and Academy Drive. This year's parade will again be televised live by WOWK-TV 13.

2:00pm: Kids On First & Kurt Shultis

WV’s Kids on First is going to be the first group to perform on the Constellium Stage on Monday, July 4. The group is comprised of young entertainers from communities in the Mountain State. “Where the love of performing and community service go hand in hand,” is the motto of the group. This year, the Kids on First show is “On the Radio.” Directed by Laurie Shultis, the performance is described a “a fun, upbeat, entertaining musical.”

Kurt Shultis has performed 3 times for the crowd at Ripley’s Fourth of July Celebration. The talented singer and songwriter is making his fourth appearance on the fourth in 2022. He is performing at 3 p.m. on Monday, July 4 on the Constellium Stage on the lawn of the Jackson County Courthouse. Shultis sings in a variety of genres including pop rock and country. He serves as an instructor at the Jackson County School of Music and recording studio in Ripley and recently released the 8-song album “The Great Divide.”

4:00pm: Track 9

Track 9 is making its first appearance at Ripley’s Fourth of July Celebration this year. The band is performing at 4 p.m. on Monday, July 4 on the Constellium Stage on the Jackson County Courthouse lawn.

The band is comprised of 9 musicians from the Parkersburg/Marietta area. It includes an ensemble of 6 vocalists and 3 horn players playing a high-energy, fun-filled show. Track 9 is known for its classic rock music with an occasional country tune, too.

6:00pm: Ultra Sound

Ultra Sound features music from the 80’s with a touch of today’s hits. The high energy band, which has a strong Jackson County presence and following, is making its return to Ripley’s 4th of July Celebration. Enjoy the show at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 6 on the Constellium Stage on the lawn of the Jackson County Courthouse. Expect to hear songs made popular by such bands as Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Guns ‘n Roses and AC/DC, among others.

8:00pm: Rick K and the Allnighters

Known as “America’s Most Exciting Show Band,” Rick K. & The Allnighters are returning to the Constellium Performance Stage at Ripley’s Fourth of July Celebration. The 7-member band is performing at 8 p.m. on Monday, July 4. The band will take you on a high-speed, cross-country tour of rock’s greatest hits through the fabulous 50’s, the groovy 60’s explosion and the disco nights of the 70’s.With a “Vegas Flash” of class and professionalism, take “a rock n’ roll road trip” along the lawn of the Jackson County Courthouse.

10:00pm: Fireworks

Fireworks are the classic conclusion to “America’s Largest Small-Town Independence Celebration.”

Sponsored by Dutch Miller of Ripley, the dazzling display will light up the sky at 10 p.m. on Monday, July 4th.
