Houston TX (August 2 2023) - “Elements of Friendship” is the culmination of spontaneous recording sessions captured at the world famous Sugar Hill and Tierra studios featuring noted sonics expert Robbie Parrish, keyboard extraordinaire Michael Hall and the amazing bass work of Chris Maresh. The album delivers fourteen songs burned to CDs especially for radio. The feel of the compilation is reminiscent of the sixties productions of The Moody Blues but yet completely different in composition. Easy to get lost in due to its relaxing but yet adventurous trip through time. “Elements of Friendship” is a collage of memories set to music that provides a journey that listeners can easily relate to because of their own passages over time. For example, on track two “Green Cadillac” the listener is treated to an upbeat jazzy presence by the skilled hands of Michael Hall on piano with Parrish delivering soft percussion accompaniment which delivers an easy to follow rhythm. The musical landscape is accented by the introduction of soft complimentary memories. As the song progresses there is a creative infusion, a blues like feel however the added placement does not over shadow the original jazzy feel. Another call out track, track three, “To Marie” delivers a relatable train of thought: “just the thought of her” which leads the listener into the dream like transition created and embellished on the keys. At mid-point the cymbals crash placing new found emphasis which suddenly pulls the listener away from the mesmerizing residence they acquired but just gently enough to call attention to a touch of common, modern everyday reality. The verbal presentation re-enters with “there are angels in our lives, we have had angels in our lives”. Most of the recordings were captured in one take with many of the pieces composed on the fly which captures the spontaneous nature of a conversation between friends.
