August 3, 2022

7 PM - Alexa Tarantino Quartet

Director of the Rockport Jazz Workshop, Alexa Tarantino is an award-winning jazz saxophonist and educator. She regularly performs as a leader and sidewoman in a wide variety of ensembles including Wynton Marsalis & the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and Cécile McLorin Salvant's OGRESSE. Tarantino is currently on faculty for the Jazz at Lincoln Center's Youth Programs.

8 PM - Fred Hersch Trio

Proclaimed "the most arrestingly innovative pianist in jazz over the last decade" by Vanity Fair, fifteen-time Grammy Award nominee Fred Hersch is a pervasively influential force who has long defined jazz's creative edge as improviser, composer, bandleader and educator.

August 5, 2022

8 PM - The Bad Plus

Come hear the newest iteration of the beloved avant-jazz ensemble, now a quartet with newcomers Ben Monder (guitar) and Chris Speed (sax) joining founders Reid Anderson (bass) and David King (drums). They will be performing pieces from their upcoming and much-anticipated new record.

2 PM - Tia Fuller, saxophone

A saxophonist of impressive vitality and startling creativity, the Boston jazz artist/composer/educator has made quite a name for herself with a propulsive style that mixes post-bop with shades of R&B. The Grammy-nominated alto sax player toured the world as a featured soloist in Beyonce's band before releasing several acclaimed solo albums on Mack Avenue Records and becoming a sought-after instructor at Berklee College of Music.

8 PM - Regina Carter

The jazz violin virtuoso returns to bring her improvisatory, genre-hopping style to Rockport for the first time in five years. A MacArthur Grant recipient, Carter brings elements of classical, R&B, Afro-Cuban and folk into her dynamic, singular brand of jazz.

5 PM - Dee Dee Bridgewater With Bill Charlap

Over the course of a multifaceted career spanning four decades, Grammy and Tony Award-winning jazz giant Dee Dee Bridgewater has ascended to the upper echelon of vocalists, putting her unique spin on standards.
