Schools and Libraries

August 21, 2019

From: Russell Library

The Ryan Woods Autism Foundation will host a FREE training session prior to the school year targeted for families who have IEP meetings throughout the year with educators in Connecticut. IEP 2020 - "TRAIN THE PARENT" is designed for those families who may need help navigating through the NEW IEP process as we move into a new school year. In addition, we will address the issue of transitioning with respect to our special needs / ASDs.

Eboné Woods, Esq. will be our guest. Eboné is an attorney with the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights. Prior to her current position, she was an associate attorney at one of the top education law firms on Long Island. She is a Trustee of The Independent Day School in Middlefield and is involved in many non-profit and humanitarian-related, grassroots organizations throughout NY and CT. Eboné is licensed in NY and CT.

Please come out so that you can be prepared for those IEP meetings this school year as well as be the best advocate for your child you can be. Teens 16+ are welcome to attend. Please feel free to share this e-mail as you deem appropriate.

We wish you and your child[ren] a successful year!
