Sanchez invites Diamond Bar Mayor Andrew Chou to join her as State of the Union guest

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (CA-38) announced that Diamond Bar Mayor Andrew Chou will be her guest to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address to Congress on Tuesday, February 7.

The State of the Union Address will highlight the achievements that House Democrats and President Biden have delivered over the past two years and the work that Democrats are doing to help American families in the 118th Congress.

“I am proud to invite Mayor Andrew Chou to join me as my guest for President Biden’s State of the Union Address,” said Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez. “Mayor Chou has shown just how deeply he cares about the community he represents. He is a tireless advocate for diversity and equal opportunity who is committed to giving every member of the Diamond Bar community a voice in local government. Mayor Chou has certainly earned his role as a respected leader, and I am grateful that he will be joining me on Tuesday.”

Mayor Chou was first elected to the Diamond Bar City Council in November 2018, and he is currently serving his first term as Mayor. Prior to this, Mayor Chou served as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner for the City.

Throughout his tenure, Mayor Chou has worked tirelessly to ensure that all members of the Diamond Bar community have a voice in local government and are treated with dignity and respect. He has been a strong advocate for policies that promote diversity, equity, and access to opportunity for all residents.  For his leadership in the community, Mayor Chou has received several awards, including the "Make a Difference" Award from the Tricounties Democratic Club in 2019, the prestigious Franklin & Eleanor Roosevelt Award from the Los Angeles Democratic Party in 2020, and the Standing Ovation Award from the Tricounties Democratic Club 2022.

Several new cities were added to California’s 38th Congressional District after 2020 redistricting, including Diamond Bar.  

The 38th Congressional District now consists of the following cities and unincorporated communities: Diamond Bar, La Habra, La Habra Heights, Hacienda Heights, La Mirada, Los Nietos, Norwalk, Montebello, Pico Rivera, Rowland Heights, Santa Fe Springs, South Whittier, Walnut, Whittier, and parts of Downey and Industry.
