Sen. Rick Scott Issues Weekly Update on Biden's Inflation Crisis-Dec 02,2022

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Rick Scott released a weekly update on his actions to address America’s debt crisis and rising inflation. Earlier this week, the Bureau of Economic Analysis’ October Personal Consumer Expenditures (PCE) release showed prices paid by consumers for goods and services rose 6.0% over the year. This data shows how President Biden’s inflation crisis, caused by his and Democrats’ socialist policies and reckless government spending, continues to shrink budgets for families as the prices of everyday goods continue to skyrocket. Following yesterday’s announcement, Senator Scott released the following statement.

Senator Rick Scott said, “As Americans head into another holiday season where inflation continues to climb, families in Florida and across the country continue to suffer with sky high prices caused by reckless government spending. Since taking office, President Biden has overseen a $4.8 trillion increase in the national deficit, and his obsession with spending is costing the average American household an estimated $753 more a month. That is unacceptable—and since my first day in the Senate, I’ve been vocal about getting America’s finances in order. For the sake of hardworking families that are struggling to make ends meet, we have to get this inflation crisis under control. That starts with stopping the reckless spending, like the massive omnibus spending package Congress is currently considering. It’s nothing but an inflation bomb and we can’t let it happen. I’ll be fighting with every tool at my disposal as a United States Senator to ensure we stick to a short-term, clean Continuing Resolution that doesn’t further fuel the radical, wasteful Biden agenda.”
