In his first on-camera interview after repeatedly avoiding questions from Montana press, Sheehy struggles to answer for mounting lies

Helena, MT – After months of dodging the press, Tim Sheehy’s first on-camera interview with a Montana media outlet was filled with tough questions about independent reporting on inconsistencies around his military service and a gunshot wound he received, refusal to condemn a current staffer's support for neo-Nazi social media posts, and issues facing his taxpayer-funded business.

Instead of being straight with Montanans, Sheehy attacked the media and refused to take accountability for his actions.

WATCH HERE

KEY MOMENTS:

  • Sheehy retold his lie about how he received his gunshot wound – and still refused to provide his medical records, which would offer the truth about his gunshot wound.
  • Sheehy repeatedly attacked the press:
    • He claimed that the Montana Free Press and the Daily Beast are “not news organizations.”
    • He said that only “one media outlet” covered his gunshot wound, despite multiple Montana and national outlets reporting on his lies.
    • He insisted that the “Montana media [...] turned against us” by covering his taxpayer-funded business’s challenges that could create a massive conflict of interest if he is elected.
  • When asked about the bipartisan national security bill that Steve Daines supported, Sheehy said “no,” and that he did not support the funding package.
    • The national security bill provided essential military assistance for Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel.
    • Daines said the bill “provides critical, lethal aid to Israel as they defend themselves from terrorists,” while Sheehy said the funding “will end up in the hands of Hamas and Hezbollah.”
