On the 50th Anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision that granted and protected women's right to choose, Republicans in Congress and across the country continue to push for a national abortion ban, to criminalize doctors and nurses, and to make contraception harder to access.

Instead of  commemorating this landmark moment in our history, we instead acknowledge that this is the first anniversary when this right isn't guaranteed for all American women. On this grim anniversary, we recommit ourselves to fighting for women's freedom and health care.

I will continue to fight to protect a woman’s right to choose and for Congress to restore the protections of Roe v. Wade in federal law – the only way we can fully secure a woman’s right to choose in every state.
