About: The NFPW high school contest is a three-tiered contest offering 23 different categories for entry. The first level is the state-level contest. The second tier is the national competition. First-place winners at the state level can move on to compete in the national-level contest.

Eligibility: The contest is open to high school students and recent graduates. This includes public, private, and home-schooled students who reside in Connecticut. Entries must be produced by a current high school student or a recently graduated student who produced the work between February 1, 2023 and January 31, 2024. All entries must have been published in a recognized medium for the category. i.e., a school, local, or national newspaper, website, radio or TV station, etc.

Submissions: Entries are Being Accepted in 23 writing, editing, broadcast, and visual art categories. HERE is a complete list of categories.

Fee: $5 per entry.

Deadline: The deadline is noon on February 7, 2024.
