Stabbing Investigation Suspect Arrested

The Wichita Police Department (WPD) has arrested a 17-year-old male from Wichita for aggravated battery stemming from a stabbing incident that critically injured a 20-year-old male.

At approximately 6:45 am, Officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of E 15th Street N for a stabbing call. Officers arrived on the scene and located the victim at the intersection of 15th Street N and Volutsia and two citizens providing first aid to him.

The investigation revealed the 20-year-old victim got into a verbal argument with his brother after he accidentally woke him up. During the verbal argument, the suspect began stabbing his 20-year-old brother. The victim received multiple stab wounds in his left upper body, lower back, and left arm.

The 20-year-old victim was transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The victim underwent surgery and is in critical but stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
