Chair Barnes celebrates Biden’s trip to Michigan ahead of his remarks on Dems’ landmark infrastructure investments

LANSING — On Sep 6th, afternoon, President Joe Biden will visit Michigan to discuss his Investing in America agenda that has created over 400,000 jobs and canceled billions in student loan debt for Michiganders. Ahead of these remarks, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes released the following statement:

“The past four years under President Biden and Vice President Harris’s leadership have been nothing less than historic, with more than $12 billion poured into manufacturing, infrastructure, and clean energy in Michigan alone. These investments are helping us create more good-paying jobs and a prosperous economy for the future so that Michigan will thrive for generations to come.

“We are thrilled to have President Biden here in Michigan today highlighting the many ways that the Biden-Harris administration has dramatically changed the future of our state. As president, Trump did nothing but make empty promises on jobs and infrastructure, while President Biden and Vice President Harris rolled up their sleeves and got it done.”

In Michigan, the Investing in America agenda included $28.5 billion in private-sector manufacturing and clean energy investments, 505.8 thousand applications to start new businesses, and $4.2 billion in student debt cancellation has been approved for 82,700 Michiganders.
