Stefanik Earns Friend of the Farm Bureau Award
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today announced she earned the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF)’s “Friend of Farm Bureau” award recognizing her efforts and advocacy on behalf of New York farmers. This announcement follows her meeting with the New York Farm Bureau today.
“I am proud to earn the Friend of the Farm Bureau Award and be recognized for my advocacy on behalf of our farmers in Upstate New York and the North Country,” Stefanik said. “Our farmers are truly essential to our economy and region, and I have proudly stood up for our farmers against New York’s devastating overtime wage decision and worked to strengthen our agricultural landscape in New York and support our farmers who work hard to produce nutritious food for our communities. I will always put our farmers first and today I continued to hear directly from our farmers, so I can continue to bring their concerns to the highest levels in next year’s Farm Bill.”
Stefanik has been an advocate for free and fair trade to support farmers in New York’s 21st District, has work to preserve milk choice in New York schools, and adamantly opposed and worked to reverse New York State’s devastating decision to lower the overtime wage threshold.
The Friend of the American Farm Bureau Award is awarded to legislations whose voting records supports farmers. They are recognized and nominated by their state Farm Bureau for actions taken on behalf of Farm Bureau and approved by American Farm Bureau Federation.
