Sun Link Streetcar Impacts for the Fourth Avenue Winter Street Fair

The 54^th Annual Winter Street Fair will take place Friday, December 8 to Sunday, December 10. Due to event road closures, the streetcar will have temporary route adjustments and two streetcar stops (Fourth Avenue/Fourth Street and Fourth Avenue/Sixth Street) will not be in service beginning Thursday, December 7 at approximately 1 p.m. through end of day Sunday, December 10. All transit rides remain free.

Riders have two options to bypass the streetcar route closures – walk through the event or ride a Special Event Sun Tran bus detouring around the street fair that will connect them back to the streetcar route.

Riders can board the special event buses at the following locations:

- University Boulevard/Third Avenue

- Fifth Avenue/Sixth Street

- Fourth Avenue/Ninth Street

The bus boarding locations are a few hundred feet from the streetcar platforms. Signs will mark the bus boarding area.

Riders can re-board the Sun Link streetcar at Fourth Avenue/Ninth Street to continue traveling towards the Mercado District, or re-board at University Boulevard/Third Avenue to access the University of Arizona. The bus stop on Fifth Avenue/Sixth Street is conveniently located near the center of the fair to offer visitors a closer location to catch a ride.

Sun Tran Routes 3 and 109X will also be on a temporary detour beginning Thursday, December 7 at noon through end of day Sunday, December 10. Detoured buses will use Stone Avenue instead of Fourth Avenue. All other stops for these routes will still be serviced. Riders can board at:

- Route 3 - Ronstadt Transit Center, Toole Avenue/Seventh Avenue, Sixth Street/Fourth Avenue or Sixth Street/Third Avenue.

- Route 109X – Sixth Avenue/Pennington Street, Toole Avenue/Seventh Avenue or Sixth Street/Fourth Avenue.

Riders can also take the following Sun Tran routes to the downtown Ronstadt Transit Center and transfer to Sun Link:

Routes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 16, 18, 19, 21, 22, 23 & 25
