Government and Politics

August 1, 2022

Last week Team Castelli kicked off our roundtable series with a Women for Castelli roundtable discussion. From childcare, livable wages, access to health and social care, to what kind of world we’re leaving to our daughters - women’s issues are community issues.

Additionally Matt took part in the Queensbury Dobbs Decision Protest, Glens Falls Democratic Committee Picnic, Easton Democratic Committee Picnic, and Johnstown's Knox Field Star Spangled Fireworks Celebration.

This week Matt attended the Clinton County Fair and hosted his second roundtable, this time with Seniors to discuss issues like Social Security and Medicare, bringing down prescription drug costs, and making sure that everyone has access to the affordable, quality care, and housing they deserve.

Matt's ad is now airing on televisions across NY-21!

Getting Castelli's message to voters and ensuring that people turn out to vote for the August Primary is the best way to ensure we defeat Elise Stefanik in November.

Help us keep Castelli's ad on the air and get our message out in front of more voters!

In the Press

We've been getting our message out in the press as well:

July 26, 2022, Rome Sentinel "Challenger in 21st Congressional District hosts women’s round table"
Congressional candidate Matt Castelli gathered with a group of women in Cobleskill over the weekend to listen to their experiences and concerns, according to an announcement by his campaign.

"The issues that were shared with me today — the need for more childcare and elder care, better jobs and higher wages, access to healthcare and mental health services, concerns about climate change and our future — these are challenges for women, and challenges that families and communities face across NY-21,” Castelli said."

July 27, 2022 Politico, "Total voter confusion' as overlapping August elections loom"
Democrat Pat Ryan and Republican Marc Molinaro recently held overlapping campaign stops in the same county in advance of their Aug. 23 special election to finish off the final few months of a congressional term.

They weren’t the only candidates visiting that day. Matt Castelli, who is seeking the Democratic nomination in a primary the same day to challenge GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik in November, also dropped by the county.

July 29, 2022, North Country Now "Congressional candidate Castelli endorsed by Waddington mayor"
North Country Congressional candidate Matt Castelli was endorsed this week by several elected officials from around the state, including one in St. Lawrence County. Castelli has been endorsed by Waddington Mayor Mike Zagrobelny. Castelli also received endorsements this week from Warren County Supervisor Claudia Braymer, Jefferson County Legislator Allen Drake, Clinton County Legislator David Bezio, and Gloversville Mayor Vincent DeSantis.
