COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As the Tennessee Tech football team took its first established steps, the first objective was to build its identity. Chief among those tasks was building a place to play. As the University’s 1917-18 catalog stated: “There are tennis courts on the campus, and a splendid athletic field for football, baseball and out-door track work.” But the needs shifted quickly and on December 8, 1921, University president Quentin M.
