California is the home to Silicon Valley, some of the most successful technology companies in history and brilliant innovators. But you wouldn’t know that if you saw what California Democrats were up to this week.

California’s jobs website Access CalJOBS Today, run by the incomparably incompetent Employment Development Department, has been down for several days and is expected to be offline at least through the 4th of July. That’s likely unwelcome news to Californians struggling in today’s economy, as California still has one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation. This is only the latest screwup for the EDD, who infamously gave away $20 billion in taxpayer money to fraudsters.

Also this week, reckless Attorney General Rob Bonta leaked online the personal information of legal firearm permit holders across California – including their names, ages, addresses and license types, putting them in danger as a result. He has yet to provide an acceptable explanation for how this could have happened.

He also failed to take any responsibility for the breach, instead saying it was “unacceptable and falls far short of my expectations for this department” and that he is “deeply disturbed and angered” that it took place. So much for the buck stops with me.
