Tennessee Has a Problem Under Governor Bill Lee's Leadership

Government and Politics

September 9, 2022

Dear Friend,

This week, a judge informed state lawmakers that the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services is near collapse. The staffing shortage that has led to this issue follows a pattern seen across the state, whether it’s with public school teachers or other government employees — workers are not feeling valued.

The DCS is vital to ensuring that children in this state have the necessary resources to become productive members of society. It should be lawmakers’ absolute priority to ensure that it has the funding it needs to do its job, and that means making jobs easier for its employees and making clear that they are valued.

We need a governor who will assume leadership in this crisis and direct lawmakers to fully fund and reform the DCS. With our current governor, leadership is absent not only in this issue but across the board. I promise that when I am in office, we will work on the issues that are important to Tennesseans. But I’ll need your help to get there.

Can you chip in to help this campaign take on the Lee administration and fight for all Tennesseans?
