Government and Politics

August 17, 2022

You may be familiar with sayings such as: "You'll never be able to change it," or, "They have all the power." These have been common beliefs for years, and are repeated often. But are they true? As anyone who has been following the LaRouche movement should know, despite the culturally contrived cynicism they have never been true, and most certainly are not now.

Last week the Ukrainian "Center for Countering Disinformation," without saying a peep, took down their blacklist which featured 30 prominent members or collaborators of the Schiller Institute. This comes on the heels of weeks of intense mobilization which we spearheaded, to expose and ridicule the Ukrainian blacklist. Its removal is indicative that our mobilization has struck a certain chord, and caused at least a minor retreat. Most importantly, it proved once again that "there is a limit to the tyrant's power."

This is especially significant after the FBI raid earlier this week of former President Trump's residence in Florida—an unprecedented move in U.S. history that speaks more to the desperation of those forces of oligarchism than to their strength. Calls to defund or abolish the FBI are now growing—as well they should.

But the one thing these wannabe-gods-of-Olympus fear the most is the name of Lyndon LaRouche and Helga Zepp-LaRouche. If calls to abolish the FBI can be elevated, by bringing in the LaRouche case and accompanying FBI raid—demonstrating why LaRouche's ideas are feared so much—then the entire discussion can rise to the level of real potency. As LaRouche said at the time, "If they can do this to me, they can do it to anyone." (For reference, there were over 400 federal agents in the LaRouche raid compared with 40 at Trump's residence.)

This is exactly why we must escalate the drive for a new Bretton Woods system. These issues were elaborated this week in various of our productions, as you can see below.

We Cannot Accept Limits to Free Speech

In her webcast this week, Helga Zepp-LaRouche gave an impassioned appeal to citizens to join with her in a campaign to overturn the narratives pushed by western governments, as well as their blatant censorship, which are designed to protect their collapsing system. The discrepancy between what people want, and what governments are doing, is pointing towards a hot autumn. In Europe, governments are committing economic suicide under pressure from the U.S., the U.K. and NATO—pressure to continue the war against Russia, and to decouple their economies from Russia and China.

Most of the rest of the world is moving in a different direction, toward economic collaboration. This new direction has been shaped by the life-long work of Helga's late husband, Lyndon LaRouche. It is therefore not surprising to see that the campaign to shut down any efforts at deliberation among nations being run through the Ukrainian "Center to Counter Disinformation", has targeted her and the Schiller Institute and its collaborators. She urged viewers to join our mobilization against such censorship, and to support the Schiller Institute campaign for a New Bretton Woods, and a new security architecture.

Food Is Not a ‘Farmer’s Issue’

In this week's Fireside Chat, Schiller Institute agriculture liaison Bob Baker discussed the ongoing crisis in agriculture as food producers are being crushed by anti-human food cartels. Rather than assisting the farmer in his or her efforts to sustain human life, these cartels and their accompanying ideological bureaucrats seem to have the opposite thought—that of restricting, or even preventing farmers' ability to produce food!

Food producers are in the midst of the largest series of protests against these deadly policies ever in history, with a process that has spread across Europe and now increasingly in the U.S. Tune in for a lively discussion about how this community is responding, and what must be done to ensure our world has enough food for the coming 50 billion person population.

Don't Let the FBI run American Elections: The LaRouche Case

For all those who are outraged over the flagrantly abusive raid by the FBI of former President Trump this week, it is urgent to come to know its precursor: the LaRouche case. Former Attorney General, Ramsey Clark, said at the time that the LaRouche case "involves a broader range of deliberate and systematic misconduct and abuse of power over a longer period of time in an effort to destroy a political movement and leader, than any other federal prosecution in my time or to my knowledge.”

In her weekly New York Symposium this week, Independent LaRouche candidate Diane Sare—running against Chuck Schumer—featured the LaRouche case and why it has such relevance to today. She also featured amazing footage from a 1995 human rights trial where Lyndon and Helga LaRouche, Ramsey Clark, and LaRouche's attorney Odin Anderson spoke.

The American Military Tradition — World Land-Bridge vs. Empire

The LaRouche Organization is proud to announce a new series of classes and discussions on the true history of the United States. In this first installment, LaRouche Organization History Team researchers Chris Sare and Bob Wesser present a powerful picture of the uniquely American military tradition of nation building, both within the United States and globally.

Contrary to agrarian pro-slavery populists like Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson, George Washington and Alexander Hamilton envisioned a future United States where continual scientific and technological innovation, driven by the West Point Military Academy's army engineers and aided by government backed credit, would be able to create a thoroughly self-sufficient, full-set modern industrial economy expanding ever westward. This is precisely the tradition which must be revived today in order for the United States to once again play a positive leadership role.
