Government and Politics

August 9, 2022

Two weeks ago, when the Ukrainian government released it's "lustration," or cleansing, list (as quoted by one of President Zelensky's top advisors), a process was set into motion which is potentially causing the entire ugly sweater of the British Empire to be unraveled. The ongoing attempt to use the Ukraine conflict to impose some form of new world government, this time in the form of Global NATO, is running into problems: many are not so gullible.

The narrative was already faltering as it has become clear that Americans and Europeans are paying more at the pump and facing record inflation, all in order to "defend democracy" in Ukraine. Worse still, in many countries food shortages and famine have exploded, causing many around the world to now question not just the sanctions policy against Russia, but the feasibility of the Western financial system itself.

But then, the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation released their list declaring who the enemies of Ukraine are, and filled it with some of the most reasoned, experienced, and critical voices in academia, journalism, and politics. The Center's Director, Andriy Shapovalov, even went so far as to call those named on the list "information terrorists." As one member on the list, Russia-Ukraine expert from Denmark, Jens Jørgen Nielsen said, "This blacklist does not indicate a democratic mindset either. It smells a bit of the Soviet Union. That there is one truth and those who do not share it are criminals." His comments and interview in the Danish newspaper Jyllands Posten have now helped to sparked a debate in the Danish government, where a parliamentarian has asked the question: Should Denmark continue to support Ukraine as a show of democracy, if Ukraine is attacking the freedom of expression of Danish citizens?

Then, Scott Ritter, author and former UN weapons inspector in Iraq, made a similar point in an article published this week pointing the finger at Chuck Schumer's war on free speech. In zealously pushing the Congress to arm and fund Ukraine, Schumer has helped to create a situation "that allows U.S. taxpayer money to underwrite a campaign targeting U.S. citizens, including serving senators [Sen. Rand Paul] and political challengers [Schumer opponent Diane Sare], with intimidation and more for the ‘crime’ of exercising their First Amendment right of free speech.” Ritter was referring to two individuals on the Ukrainian list, Rand Paul and LaRouche independent Diane Sare.

Now a further shoe has dropped, this time in India. The Hindu, India's second largest English-language newspaper, has published an article highlighting Helga-Zepp LaRouche's call for for a New Bretton Woods system: "Schiller Institute calls for new Bretton Woods to end war, economic crisis." This is in response to three high-level Indians having been placed on the Ukrainian list, including one who is the Chairperson of India’s National Security Advisory Board. What the three Indians, as well as the first 30 names on the list have in common, is that they are all members of, or have recently worked with, Helga's Schiller Institute.

But with the publication in India this week, the blowback against the blatant attack on free speech has now matured into full coverage of the economic and strategic measures required to not only resolve the conflict in Ukraine, but to dissolve the neoliberal system which created it in the first place. This is exactly the kind of backlash that Global Britain did not want to happen—and Lyndon and Helga LaRouche's names are in the middle of it. We must accelerate this process, and call for an investigation and public debate over this issue, exactly as Helga Zepp-LaRouche has proposed.

No serious opposition has yet emerged in the United States to this policy, although there are rumblings. But how many Americans are satisfied with the status quo? How many Americans know that the ruling elite couldn't care less about their dwindling quality of life—no matter the narrative about "democracy?" And are Americans really prepared to start a war against China as well, as Nancy Pelosi seems to think? Watch Mike Billington's interview with China-expert Chas Freeman on Pelosi's trip to Taiwan this week.

The revolutionary push for a new system, increasingly taking place around the world, must be brought into the United States, to transform the existing tumult into a real movement. Only then can the needed discussion for a New Bretton Woods system gain the kind of traction needed for a breakthrough.

Please support our efforts and join in the fight. If you are able, please make a financial contribution to allow us to do as much as possible in these coming days and weeks. And if you haven't read and signed the call for a New Bretton Woods yet, do so here. Lastly, tune in to this weekend's Manhattan Project Meeting, which featured a top-down orientation of these ongoing developments.
